Waldemar Rösler

The painter Waldemar Rösler was born in Saxony in 1882. He maintained a close friendship with Max Liebermann. Waldemar Rösler was a member and chairman of the Berlin Sezession. Rösler was married to Oda Hardt-Rösler, one of very few women at the Königsberg Art Academy at the time.
In 1916 Waldemar Rösler cut short his life by committing suicide. During the Nazi rule his works were classified as "degenerate".
